Wisdom Dump
From TCS Group Internal Wiki
The intention of this page is to make it easy to dump tidbits of useful information that employees of KTH may otherwise have to learn the hard way. Information in this article should eventually be categorized and moved to more suitable pages.

For assistants
res report <course code>
For reporting lab results. Use enter for default information. This is what you want for 'group' and 'column'. Beware that e.g. "lab1" might not be the table that you are looking for and to check the alternatives (like "lab" containing all of the data). You should get a list of names and grades for different course elements. To report a completed course element, enter a space in the appropriate column for automatic grading (e.g. bonus points if in time) and otherwise the grade (e.g. 'G'). Use 's' to save, 'q' to quit. Avoid pressing most other keys except directional buttons and hit Ctrl+C if you mess up. Save after entering a bunch of people so that you do not have to redo it.
Pedagogy courses
In order to serve as an assistant at the department, you must have taken a small course in pedagogy. The recommended one is LH200V - Basic Communication and Teaching at KTH Learning Labs. At the time of writing, it was given once a year in Swedish and once a year in English. New students may be exempted from this rule for a year.
Study plans for PhD students
As a PhD student, you must have a study plan signed by you, your supervisor, and the principal (director of studies?) within three months of hiring. For deadlines of new study plans, see Main Page. If you do not wish to use the default Word-form for your study plan, you must ask Torbjörn Granlund for a tex template.
Telephones
There is a special dial-out code on the office telephones. Ask your office mates. Get your office number while you're at it.
